Hari Sivanesan

Hari Sivanesan started his training in Carnatic (South Indian Classical) music at the young age of 8. A student of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan from age 10, he was groomed under the tutelage of Smt Sivasakthi Sivanesan, one of the UK's foremost Carnatic figures. He was privileged enough to also start touring with his Guru at a young age through Europe, accompanying her Vocal performances on the concert and dance platforms. His Guru presented him for Arangetram (his pioneer stage concert) at age 13 where he was awarded a scholarship by the Asian Music Circuit to further his training in India.

Hari took this opportunity at age 17, to study under Guru Smt Kalpakam Swaminathan, a living legend among veena artists still alive today. The scholarship involved more than 6 months intense training and since then Hari continues to study under her guidance at every possible moment.
Hari first met Raviji when he was privileged enough to be picked by Raviji to sing and play in the CD, Chants of India produced by Raviji and ex Beatle George Harrison when only at the age of 13. Since then, Hari also worked for Raviji playing Veena for a special orchestral piece for Dartington College Festival and also for Concert for George at the Royal Albert Hall. Panditji also invited Hari to tour with his 40 concert Festival of India tour throughout the States in 2004 and 2005.

Hari has toured extensively as both a solo artist and accompaniment especially for dance. Under the instruction of Smt Sivasakthi Sivanesan he now has started to teach to the younger generation.
