Graduated from the "Faculdad de Arquitectura Y Urbanismo" (University of Buenos Aires), Sylvia Libedisnky has worked as an architect for the GLC's Schools Division, London and since then co-founded Marshmallow, design company making soft toys and furniture, her designs being selected by the London Design Centre.
Since the 80's she has worked as designer doing furniture, graphic novels, cartoons, and book illustrations (Methuen, Faber, Editorial Biblos, Editorial Teseo) and posters (Royal Court Theatre / Centro Borges / Cinecontact) - jointly with Nick Wadley, with whom she has worked intermittently since the mid-1990s. Their DoubleTakeAway cartoons were published in the Daily Telegraph (1996-97), and in the Royal Academy Magazine (1997-98) and their weekly Lax Column cartoons ran in the Financial Times from 2000 to 2002.
Her work has been exhibited in The Chelsea School of Art, ICA, Art Directions Gallery, Mario Flecha Gallery, bookartbookshop, Stanford St Exhibition, British Cartoon Trust, Cinecontact, Victoria & Albert Museum, Jaggedart, European Commission 12 Star Gallery (London), Chapter Gallery (Wales), Graphics Mantua, Shed (Milan), British Council (Bologna), Skanno (Helsinki), Galerie de Genieloods (Amsterdam), La Sala Vinçon (Barcelona) Jim Haynes Gallery (Paris), Centro Cultural Borges (Argentina), La Ventana Cemicual (Santiago de Chile), Artium (Fukuoka, Japan)
Forthcoming engagements include invitation to take part in mujeres que rien show Museo de la Historieta, Mexico DC and in Corte y Conclusión exhibition at the Instituto Borges, Buenos Aires.
