    Opening Festival

    Running 1-5 October 2008, the Opening Festival at Kings Place offers 100 concerts in five days, with some 30 different ensembles invited to play three or four 45-minute concerts each. These short concerts run in parallel in the two Halls, offering 10 performances each day in each hall (20 concerts in all). The seats for all events at the opening festival are £4.50, or £2.50 if booked online.

    There are also a number of free events taking place throughout the building during the Opening Festival, no tickets are needed for these events, just turn up and enjoy!

    Every morning in the Atrium you can experience Gyorgy Ligeti's 'Poem Symphonique for 100 Metronomes' as 100 metronomes are dotted around the resonant Kings Place Atrium, creating a wonderful ticking landscape.

    Saturday 4 October
    ArtProjx Films to be screened all day in the St. Pancras Room
    'Hi-Fi' - a selection of artists films featuring Alice Anderson, David Blandy, Dexter Dalwood, Ravi Deepres, Rineke Dijkstra, Nathalie Djurberg, Haris Epaminonda, Pamela Golden, Jesper Just, Idris Khan, Joshua Mosley, Michael Nyman, Terry Smith, Emily Wardill, Zatorski + Zatorski.
    'Opera' - A screening of a selection of films by contemporary artists who have utilised, investigated and celebrated opera and contemporary classical music.

    Sunday 5 October
    1pm - The Sixteen will be giving a fantastic vocal performance in our Atrium.
    6pm - Ana Silvera performs in the St Pancras Room. Soloing with English National Opera by her teens, Ana’s music has since developed a unique sound – lush, tender, waltzy, both ‘epic and intimate’ (The Liberal Magazine). Currently working on her first studio album Stateside, with NYC based arranger Maxim Moston (Rufus Wainwright, Antony and the Johnson) Ana’s collection of ‘inspired’ songs are keenly awaited by her fast growing fanbase.     Also, both Pangolin London and the Kings Place Gallery are open free of charge to the public, Monday to Saturday 10am to 7.30pm and on Sundays from 11am to 6.30pm.

    The building is open during the Opening Festival from 8.00 am to 12.00 midnight.

    The Box Office will be open throughout the Opening Festival for the sale and collection of pre-paid tickets, and general enquiries.
