Part of the Classical Opera Company's Mozart Week at Kings Place
The Classical Opera Company presents an entertaining and in-depth exploration of Mozart's early 'festa teatrale', the second of the three operas which he wrote for Milan during the early 1770s. Writer and broadcaster Richard Wigmore investigates the historial background to the work, while conductor Ian Page, with the help of Classical Opera Company singers, examines the young Mozart's compositional techniques, and demonstrates how he copied and improved on the musical style of the day to create his dramatic effects.
