
Left-field trumpeter Rory Simmons fronts 10 piece Fringe Magnetic with musicians from the innovative LOOP collective, as well as those from classical and folk traditions. The ensemble performs Rory's music, influenced by Christian Wallumrod, Bloodcount, Ligeti, Tom Waits and Bjork. They are joined by Norwegian vocalist Elisabeth Nygaard, who has co-written some new scores. Expect gritty rhythmic counterpoint laced with words from Norway.....
London-based Danish bassist Jasper Høiby' trio Phronesis was created by the in 2005. They released their debut album Organic Warfare in November 2007 on Loop Records. Since returning to London Høiby has reformed his group with Ivo Neame (keys, loops and sax) and Anton Eger (drums). Their music is fresh and exuberant with strong melodic grooves, inspired by a world heritage of rhythms and sounds.
