Danny Driver

Danny Driver was educated at Cambridge University and at the Royal College of Music, winning several awards including the Royal Over-Seas League Competition Keyboard Award and the title of BBC Radio 2 Young Musician of the Year on completing his studies in 2001.
 
Danny Driver appears frequently at the Wigmore Hall and has given several performances at the South Bank Centre, Manchester's Bridgewater Hall and Symphony Hall in Birmingham. He has performed as soloist and chamber musician at festivals including Bard (New York), Felicja Blumental (Israel), Windsor, Chichester, and Myra Hess Day at London's National Gallery, and has worked with orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Tel-Aviv Soloists, the American Symphony Orchestra, and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
 
Engagements for 2010-11 include the University of Texas International Piano Festival (USA), Husum Piano Festival (Germany), Australian Chamber Music Festival, English Music Festival (UK), the Wigmore Hall and Hong Kong City Hall. In addition, he will make a second recording with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under conductor Rory Macdonald in June 2011.

 Danny Driver is a Hyperion recording artist and his first disc was released in 2008, featuring York Bowen's Third and Fourth Piano  Concertos accompanied by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Martyn Brabbins. This was followed by a highly acclaimed double-disc  of Bowen's six Piano Sonatas, nominated for a 2010 Gramophone Award. Danny Driver's most recent release, a selection of C P E Bach's Keyboard Sonatas, received a five-star review in The Daily Telegraph,  Editor's Choice in Gramophone, and was featured as ‘CD of the Week' on  BBC Radio 3's Sunday Breakfast and also on National Public Radio (USA).
