International Guitar Foundation

The International Guitar Foundation (IGF) is an arts agency dedicated to the promotion, understanding and enjoyment of the guitar, its music and artists. Our work is defined by the Listen.Play.Create programme which features the guitar as the ideal vehicle for diverse and accessible concert and festival programming (Listen), participatory music making (Play) and contributes to the instrument's heritage through an extensive commissioning programme (Create).

IGF occupies a relatively unique position in the arts, it is entrepreneurial in spirit and provides a link between business and the arts. In addition, we are concerned with large-scale participatory activity and specialise in reaching new audiences, nurturing talent and creating new music. IGF stages a range of events nationwide from festivals in London, the North East and Scotland to large-scale summer schools in Wales and the South West.

We work with a number of partners ranging from University Of Bath, Real World Records and WOMAD to industry and publishing partners such as Future publishing, Music Sales and Rockschool.
