Nina Whiteman

Nina Whiteman is a singer and composer living in Manchester. As a singer, Nina specialises in challenging repertoire of last fifty years, appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe, Emergency, Sonorities Festival and The Manchester International Festival.

Commissioned works in 2010 have included A book of walks for the Colinton Amateur Orchestral Society as part of the Adopt-a-composer scheme (PRSF, Sound and Music, Making Music, and to be broadcast on BBC Radio 3), Traces of G. for period instrument ensemble Spirituoso (ensemble in residence at Handel House Museum, London), and Celestial Navigation for accordion duo TOEAC for the Cheltenham Festival. Current projects include a new work for Manchester Camerata inspired by the city of St. Petersburg as part of their Urban Symphonies series in 2010/11.
