Brodsky Quartet: The Musical Diaries of Shostakovich

The Brodsky Quartet perform Shostakovich's complete quartets, after first setting the scene and delving into the great mans mind with his Preludes and Fugues for piano and the Piano Quintet, in which pianist Jenny Lin will join the Brodsky Quartet. 

"Shostakovich has been a part of our lives since the very beginning. It always amazes me that he was still completing his epic journey of 15 quartets when we started playing them back in 1972. Excitedly we scribbled onto manuscript in a quest to learn his music in the early days, when parts were still hard to come by. We are proud to have made one of the very first recordings of these quartets, a multiple award-winning set. For us, it will be a very fitting and emotional weekend when, in our 40th year, we bring the cycle back to the London stage and that wonderful hall and acoustic at Kings Place"
