Franz Schubert’s final instrumental work is one of the greatest pieces of chamber music ever penned. Ferociously beautiful, it delves deep into the human soul, taking the listener on a journey that is at once tragic and uplifting. For this very special intimate late-night performance, be completely enveloped in the music as we lower the lights and invite you to come and sit or lie down in and amongst the musicians.
Part of The Lock-In series at Kings Place:
Grab a glass and settle in for an experimental late night series that allows audiences to get up close with and even become part of live performances in unique and playful ways! Curated by Aurora’s principal players, The Lock-In features an eclectic mix of our principal player’s favourite music and guest artists. Step inside and be prepared to let go.
These informal events take place in Hall Two, with bar service available in the Hall throughout. The Hall Two doors and bar will open immediately after the end of each main Hall One performance, with live music starting approximately 20–30 minutes after the Hall One concert concludes. Events last c. 60 minutes.
Please note that this event has been designed to be experienced at floor level! Audience members will be provided with comfortable floor matting and cushions and invited to sit, recline or lie flat on the floor as they prefer. Traditional seating is very limited and cannot be reserved in advance.
