Now in its second year, Poetry & Lyrics from Poet in the City returns to Kings Place. Headlines include readings and conversation with PJ Harvey and Don Paterson exploring the craft of words compered by John Wilson, The Land Listeners – a Nest Collective collaboration combining masters of regional dialect and stories with their contemporary folk counterparts, and an immersive performance of John Cage’s Song Books.

Kristin McClement opens Poetry & Lyrics with her siren sounds. Bridging two worlds with her haunting melodies she evokes the vast shapeshifting landscape of her childhood South Africa, and the melancholic romance of old England. Kristin has collaborated with musicians Jools Owen, Emma Gatrill and Martha Rose across the UK and Europe alongside notable acts such as Benjamin Clementine, Sam Lee, Kathryn Joseph and The Weather Station.

Play That Thing – Don Paterson & Tim Garland

An evening of music from Don Paterson with saxophonist and long-time collaborator Tim Garland. He began to concentrate on classical and twelve-string guitars in the late 1980s, when formed the Celtic-influenced jazz group Lammas with saxophonist and Chick Corea sideman Tim Garland.
