A Rhythmic Journey with Talvin Singh and Taufiq Qureshi, feat. Balwant Singh and Roopa Panesar

As the rainy season begins, join us on a rhythmic journey with a stellar line up of world-renowned artists performing rare North Indian classical music compositions, culminating with an East-West ensemble led by Talvin Singh and Taufiq Qureshi.

Balwant Singh, an iconic vocalist, instrumentalist and percussionist of Punjab presents a medley of ancient compositions created and taught by His Holiness Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji. He will be supported by Harpreet Singh with his vibrant style of ‘dhama’, renowned UK Tarshenai exponent Kirpal Singh Panesar, and the soothing sounds of Dilruba by Uday Singh.

Tablatronics maestro Talvin Singh collaborates with percussion extraordinaire Taufiq Qureshi for the first time to deliver a ground-breaking east-west ensemble. Roopa Panesar, one of the finest sitar players to emerge on the Indian classical music scene, joins the two maestros, alongside young ‘Jazz Musician of the Year’ Ben Hazelton on bass.

This event is supported by the Allarakha Foundation, SAAZ Music.
