The Allegations: Mark Lawson & Jonathan Freedland

Jewish Book Week 2017
Spoken Word / Tuesday, 28 February 2017 - 7:00pm / Hall Two
£10.50* / Savers £9.50** / Multi-Event Discount Available

Derived from his personal experiences at the BBC, Mark Lawson’s new novel is a page-turning satire on the aftershocks of damning allegations. Penetrating, savage and often very funny, The Allegations portrays two academics who confront disgrace and disintegration arising from the accusations of colleagues, students and ex-lovers.

Mark Lawson captures a contemporary culture in which allegations are easily made and reputations casually destroyed.

He is in conversation with Jonathan Freedland.

Mark Lawson
is an English journalist, broadcaster and author. Specialising in culture and the arts, he is best known for presenting the flagship BBC Radio 4 arts programme, Front Row, between 1998 and 2014. A Guardian columnist, he now presents Mark Lawson Talks To... on BBC Four and The Allegations is his acclaimed new novel.

Jonathan Freedland is the Guardian’s executive editor and a weekly columnist. He currently presents BBC Radio 4’s The Long View. The recipient of the 2014 Orwell Prize, he writes thrillers under the nom de plume Sam Bourne. His most recent book, written under his own name, was The 3rd Woman.
