Poet Joanne Limburg has produced an exquisite and heart-breaking memoir of her childhood, her Jewishness, her mother’s death, and how she came to terms with her brother’s suicide: ‘I explained to the rabbi that his death was the point of fracture in my world.’ Hilary Mantel has written of Small Pieces, ‘Can a writer be too honest? Joanne Limburg
is the author of two acclaimed poetry collections, Femenismo, and Paraphernalia. She has written one collection for children, Bookside Down, which was shortlisted for the CLPE Poetry Prize, and a memoir about OCD. Her debut novel, For Want of Kindness, was published in 2015.

Shoshana Boyd Gelfand is the Director of JHub and also serves as a senior member of the Pears Foundation team. She presents regularly on BBC Radio 2’s Pause for Thought and Radio 4’s Something Understood. She is the founder of JDOV, a Jewish TED-style talk which invites inspiring speakers to give the ‘Jewish Talk of Their Life’. She is also the author of a children’s book, The Barefoot Book of Jewish Folk Tales.
