The music: To celebrate the start of 2019, OAE perform the cantata Bach wrote for New Year’s Day, 1725. It opens the year in triumphant fashion, with brilliant trumpets and a powerful message of hope for conquering evil.
The science: In October 2017, scientists discovered ‘Oumuamua, the first known interstellar object to pass through our solar system. What is it? Where did it come from? Professor Alan Fitzsimmons led the first team to try and find the answers.
