Disniversity

London Podcast Festival

Welcome to Disniversity, the podcast crash course through the history of Disney’s animated classics, with film journalist Ben Travis and animation academic Dr. Sam Summers.

On the show, we’ve been moving forward in time through the legendary Walt Disney Animation Studios catalogue watching every feature film in chronological order, from Snow White to Encanto – and in our very first live show, we’ll be breaking canon to explore an animation-packed, Disney-affiliated classic that sits just outside the regular programming: beloved 1988 favourite, Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Join us as we break down Robert Zemeckis’ live-action/animation hybrid comedy-noir – discussing the film’s radically playful energy, breaking down its smartest and most surprising moments, discovering exactly how it became a Disney movie, and exploring where it sits in the grand lineage of American animation.

And, as usual, we’ll be bringing all your favourite features from the regular show – including Lasting Legacy, Dis-Carded, and maybe a handful of Disniversity Legends too. Watch the film in advance, get your ticket today, and we’ll see you in Toontown.
