Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the publication of Fat is a Feminist Issue, pioneering therapist Susie Orbach presents the extended new edition of the case histories that inspired her recent Radio 4 series In Therapy. She reveals as much about what is going on in the mind of the person behind the couch as she does the emotional dilemmas of the patient.
Susie Orbach is a psychotherapist, writer and social critic, the founder of the Women’s Therapy Centre of London and visiting professor at LSE. Her international bestsellers include What Do Women Want? and The Impossibility of Sex and Bodies, which won the Women in Psychology Prize. Fat is a Feminist Issue, published 40 years ago, has sold well over a million copies. She lives in London and lectures extensively worldwide.
Rebecca Birk has been Rabbi of Finchley Progressive Synagogue since 2010. She has been Jewish Chaplain at HMP Holloway and visiting Rabbi to the Progressive Jews of Stockholm.
