The launch of the Spring issue of Poetry London features live readings from Rachael Allen, Vahni Capildeo, Rebecca Perry and Matthew Dickman. The evening will be hosted by the magazine’s Poetry Editor, Ahren Warner.

Matthew Dickman is the author of All-American Poem (American Poetry Review/ Copper Canyon Press, 2008), 50 American Plays (co-written with his twin brother Michael Dickman, Copper Canyon Press, 2012), Mayakovsky’s Revolver (W.W. Norton & Co, 2012), Wish You Were Here (Spork Press, 2013), 24 HOURS (One Star Press, Paris, France, 2014), Brother (Faber&Faber UK, 2016), and Wonderland (W.W. Norton & Co).

Vahni Capildeo’s books include Venus as a Bear (Carcanet 2018; Forward Poetry Prizes Best Collection shortlist) and Measures of Expatriation (Forward Poetry Prizes Best Collection 2016). Vahni has worked in academia and culture for development at Commonwealth Writers. Theatre collaborations include processional reworkings of the Bacchae in Cambridge and Port of Spain, and responses to the Guyanese revolutionary poet Martin Carter. They are currently relaunching their concept of intersemiotic interdreaming.

Rebecca Perry’s first book-length collection, Beauty/Beauty (Bloodaxe Books, 2015) was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and won the Michael Murphy Memorial Prize. Rebecca also has a pamphlet, cleanliness of rooms and walls, with If A Leaf Falls Press. She is currently poet in residence, alongside Amy Key, at the National Centre for Folk Art.

Rachael Allen’s first collection, Kingdomland, will be published by Faber in 2019. She was born in Cornwall and studied at Goldsmiths College. Nights of Poor Sleep, a collaboration with the painter Marie Jacotey, was published as a co-authored artists’ book in 2017 by Test Centre. She is poetry editor at Granta, and co-founder of poetry press clinic and online journal tender. She has received a Northern Writers’ Award and an Eric Gregory Award.
