This session covers some different approaches to personal storytelling and offers ideas on how to find and frame personal stories, and how to give people a platform to share their own ideas and experiences with an audience. The workshop will consider various forms of storytelling and information sharing, including interview, documentary and fiction. Two podcast makers who are dedicated to personal audio storytelling will share some of their podcast stories with you and lead you through how and why they made them.

Dave Pickering has been interviewing people for Getting Better Acquainted for over 300 episodes, has worked with Spark London True Stories for six years, and co-produces fictional interview storytelling in The Family Tree.

Karla Marie Sweet is a playwright, writer, and radio producer, who produces the podcast for Arts Emergency, a charity dedicated to broadening access to arts education.
