Bach Weekend, Kings Place’s much-loved yearly dose of all things Bach, returns this April with Martin Feinstein’s acclaimed reading of the St Matthew Passion, with the London Bach Singers and the Feinstein Ensemble. Concerts include a solo recital by cellist Christophe Coin, considered by many to be the finest period cellist of his generation, and a programme of double concertos written by the three greatest exponents of the baroque concerto: Vivaldi, Telemann and Bach. Reflecting Kings Place’s Venus Unwrapped series this year, there will be a special concert juxtaposing Bach with music by Frederick the First’s talented composing daughters, Anna Amalia Abbess of Quedlinburg and Wilhelmine of Prussia, and an event focused on the life of Anna Magdalena Bach.
