Scripted by Lucy Parham

Beloved Clara is the compelling and tragic story of the passionate, tragic and volatile relationship between Robert Schumann, his pianist wife Clara Wieck and Johannes Brahms.

Pianist Lucy Parham, who is internationally known for her Composer Portrait series, has updated Beloved Clara for the bicentenary of Clara Schumann in 2019.

The narrative comprises poignant letters and diaries interspersed with solo piano works by all three composers, as well as those by Mendelssohn and Liszt.

Beloved Clara was premiered in the Wigmore Hall Masters Series and has since been frequently performed throughout the UK, Europe and the USA, to critical acclaim. For this performance Lucy Parham is joined by renowned actors Juliet Stevenson (Truly Madly Deeply,The Politican’s Wife, Atlantis, The Village) and Tim McInnerny (Blackadder, Notting Hill, Game of Thrones, National Treasure).

* Please note that Tim McInnerny kindly replaces Henry Goodman who is unfortunately indisposed.
