The English Concert returns to Kings Place in the company of their new Principal Guest Director Kristian Bezuidenhout. Well-known for his virtuosic keyboard performances, Bezuidenhout turns his attention towards Bach; his monumental Art of Fugue on one hand and the D minor harpsichord concerto on the other, each with their own intricate inventions. Bezuidenhout constructs his own invention in the form of a hybrid suite, pairing Telemann’s Tafelmusik and Paris Quartets, before mythological caricatures of Neptune, water nymphs and all the tempestuous moods of the sea are depicted in his famous Wassermusik.
