The afternoon concert series ‘Guitar in London’ was established by the International Guitar Foundation (IGF) to present young talent from their Young Artist Platform (YAP) as well as more established artists from around the world. The concerts often include UK debuts and premières of newly commissioned repertoire.

International Guitar Foundation (IGF) presents two wonderful YAP awardees: Juno Duo and Luke Bartlett in this Sunday evening Guitar in London concert. Under 18s can go to this concert for free.

This concert is approximately 1 hour without an interval, each act plays one half of the concert.

About the artists:

Luke Bartlett

Luke Bartlett is a British classical and electric guitarist from Bristol. He started playing at age 10 and remained largely self-taught until being inspired to pursue conservatoire classical study at the World Youth Guitar Festival in 2017.  He is now a final year undergraduate student at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff where he studies with maestros Helen Sanderson, Zoran Dukic and John Mills. Luke seeks to reinvigorate the guitar’s tradition for dramatic and expressive performance while also exploiting more of the instrument’s technical possibilities. He is a member of Res Novus, a flute & guitar duo with Josephine Connor and is humbled to be a Julian Bream Trust scholar and receive support from the Bristol Classical Guitar Society, Classical Guitar Centre Birmingham and LFMI.

Juno Duo

The Juno Duo is a British-Ukrainian Voice and Guitar chamber ensemble formed by Isabella Hulbert and Maryna Vosmirova. They pride themselves on their versatility as musicians, with their repertoire spanning from Baroque to Contemporary music, blending styles including Folk, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Pop with the Classical canon. They showcase diverse musicality through experimental arrangements using Violin and two Voices alongside their primary instruments and have recently recorded their original arrangements at ‘Abbey Road Studios’. They have been selected as Young Artists of The International Guitar Foundation for 2023-2024 and performed in a masterclass with Sean Shibe at Kings Place in 2023. In 2024, they have given numerous concerts at the Royal Academy of Music such as Goss at 60, an exploration of Steven Goss’ works, and in Double Bill: Cabaret and Cabaret with the Juno Duo, where they have performed their own arrangements of Cabaret works, from Berlin to Broadway.
