Internationally-known for her interpretations of Schumann, Lucy Parham presents a solo piano recital with poetry at its heart. Clara Schumann, whose Nocturne opens the programme, played her husband’s Fantasiestȕcke frequently at her own recitals, while Liszt admiringly transcribed two of Schumann’s numerous songs, including Widmung (Dedication), his wedding present for Clara. Lucy also plays Debussy’s colourful Estampes and a group of Chopin’s finest works.
