‘The Schumanns’ performance combined probing intensity with wit and energy, and a wonderful alertness to shifts of mood.’ The Guardian

The multi-award winning Schumann Quartett return to Kings Place with a fascinating programme entitled Chiaroscuro. Says violinist Ken Schumann of the programme, ‘chiaroscuro is like a journey through space and time. We are using Bach’s fugues as our ‘promenade’, so they are like bridges which connect contrasting composers and music, from Glass to Gershwin, Mendelssohn to Shostakovich.’

Join the Schumann Quartett on this lovingly-curated journey through stand-out quartet works, illuminated and cast into shadow by Bach’s intriguing canons.
