St Mary’s Music School pre-concert performance

This special foyer performance at Kings Place marks the launch of St Mary’s Music School’s Alumni Ambassador Scheme which has been created to celebrate and engage our former pupils who have made remarkable contributions to the world of music and beyond.

St Mary’s Music School, a specialist music school based in Edinburgh, provides world-class music and academic education for talented young instrumentalists and singers aged 9-19, drawing young people from Scotland, the UK, and beyond. Notable alumni include Steven Osborne, Garry Walker, Helen Grime, David Horne, and Alexander Armstrong. The school’s mission is to foster academic and musical excellence in a supportive environment.  It opens its doors to young musicians through masterclasses, interactive days and Saturday Music Classes.

Tonight’s performance is part of a longstanding initiative which sees our young player perform at venues across the UK. St Mary’s Music School is renowned for nurturing some of the country’s best instrumentalists and singers, providing a unique environment where gifted pupils thrive under expert guidance, gaining invaluable performance experience.

With appearances from Aaron Akugbo (trumpet), Sofia Ros (accordion), Eve Boulos (saxophone), Angela Hicks (voice), India Reilly (violin) and David Swan (jazz piano), the programme will include After the Tryst by renowned composer and St Mary’s Music School Vice President, Sir James Macmillan.

This performance will take place in the Kings Place foyer before the evening’s concert in Hall One. Book tickets for Dunedin Consort & Hebrides Ensemble: Since it was the day of Preparation…
