The so-called ‘Dunkeld’ Partbooks give a glimpse of the musical riches being performed in this period, including motets by Continental composers sourced directly from Paris and the beautiful anonymous Missa Felix namque, while the ‘Wode’ Partbooks, showcase the work of more local musicians responding to the changing musical styles and requirements of post Reformation Scotland. Alongside these are works by contemporary Scottish composers Electra Perivolaris and Phillip Cooke commissioned by The Marian Consort which reflect on this astonishing musical heritage.
