The young Beethoven announced his genius to the world with his radical take on the Piano Trio: he took that most intimate, domestic of mediums and transformed it into a form of symphonic scope and ambition.
In this programme the peerless Trio Wanderer take us from his opening salvo, the darkly turbulent Op. 1 No. 3, to the spacious vistas of his Archduke Trio, one of the greatest works in the canon.
