London Podcast Festival 2021

Throughout the Audio Drama Day there will be a series of free panels in The Battlebridge Room between live shows. Panels will feature a variety of creators performing on the day, industry experts and fiction podcast writers, producers, directors and actors.


10am-11am: Where Improv Meets Actual Play

Hosted by Maxamillian John (Definitely Human: Marscorp, Down, The Monster Hunters, The Infinite Bad), this panels explores the point at which Improv Comedy meets Actual Play podcasts: shows where performers play Tabletop Roleplaying Games like Dungeons and Dragons and construct a story together.

This panel will feature: Alexander Newall (Rusty Quill Gaming, The Magnus Archives), Nathan Blades (Campaign Podcast: Skyjacks), Elizabeth Campbell (Realms of Peril and Glory), Gareth O’Connor (Free Association) and Chris and Jen Sugden (Victoriocity, The Dead Secrets).


12pm-1pm: Making Audio Comedy 

Hosted by Felix Trench (Wooden Overcoats, Quid Pro Euro, Victoriocity, etc) this panel explores how to make scripted audio comedy from the perspective of a producer, writer, sound designer and performer.

This panel will feature: Ed Morrish (Beta Female, Sound Heap, The Souvenir Programme, etc), Amna Saleem (Beta Female), Charlie Dinkin (Seancecast, Human Error, etc), Zoё Tomalin (Seancecast, Have I Got News For You, etc) and Laurence Owen and Lindsay Sharman (Mockery Manor, The Ballad of Anne and Mary.)


2pm-3pm: Making Audio Horror 

Hosted by David Ault (The NoSleep Podcast, The Byron Chronicles, Shadows at the Door, etc), this panel explores how to make audio horror from the perspective of a producer, writer, sound designer and performer.

This panel will feature: Jonathan Sims (The Magnus Archives), Jon Ware and Muna Hussen (The Silt Verses, I Am in Eskew), Oliver Morris (Kane and Feels: Paranormal Investigators), Libby Thomas (Glasgow Ghost Stories) and Naomi Clarke (The Secret of St Kilda).


4pm-5pm: Screen & Stage & Audio 

Hosted by Meghan Fitzmartin (Red Rhino, Passenger List, Supernatural etc), this panel will explore coming to audio from a background in stage and screen, and vice versa. It will feature a range of producers, directors and writers to cover a wide variety of perspectives on the subject.

This panel will feature Claire Broughton (Hat Trick Productions), Danny Robins (The Battersea Poltergeist, 2:22 A Ghost Story), Robert Awosusi (Radio Elusia, Boundless Theatre), Jacob Roberts-Mensah (Dem Times, Highlife Romance) and David K Barnes (Wooden Overcoats, Doctor Who, Birthday Suit).


6pm-7pm: Telling Your Story 

Hosted by Ella Watts (The Orphans, The Unseen Hour, BBC Studios), this panel will explore stories made by, for and about people from marginalised communities. With a range of writers, actors and producers, the panel aims to give you the confidence and inspiration to write from diverse perspectives.

This panel will feature Helen Gould (Rusty Quill GamingEnthusigasm), Megan Gwen Davies (We Know NoneVoidless), Simon Marshall (Kilburn, not London), Samy Soussi (Desperado), Lory Martinez (Ochenta Podcasts) and Sarah Golding (Quirky Voices Presents, MADIVA etc).
