Gülseven Medar, a gifted vocalist, explores Kurdish and Anatolian folk songs, staying true to their traditional styles. Raised in Kurdish and Alevi cultures, she interprets Turkish and Armenian tunes faithfully. Collaborating with Turkish music masters, she records these repertoires, showcased in her albums. Known for her stage presence, she performs at global festivals and contributes to folk operas. In 2023, she formed the Gülseven Medar Quartet, presenting a blend of folk and Alevi faith music with vocal, double bass, harp, and tenbur.
Joining her onstage will be İmogen Emmett on harp, Orhan Bilge on bağlama, and Ardashes Agoshian, a distinguished double bassist, composer, music director, and conductor based in Amsterdam. With a distinguished international career, including performances at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Ardashes Agoshian has garnered acclaim for his extensive musical repertoire showcased on a global scale. He holds advanced degrees from Istanbul University and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and is the founder of CorISTAnbul Chamber Choir and HayCappella.
Then Tara Jaff, an acclaimed Harp player and singer will collaborate with Mehdi Rostami and Adib Rostami on a trio project which will focus on the art of improvisation based on Kurdish and Iranian melodies.
