Some Voices started in 2010 with just seven choir members meeting up in London to sing and socialise and has grown to over 1,400 members meeting in rehearsal venues across London, Newcastle, Brighton, Cambridge, St Albans, Stroud, Wimborne, and York.

Some Voices choir is known for their signature style of performing original arrangements of popular songs that range from Bowie to Björk, from Britpop to Hip Hop, and everything in between – all with a Some Voices twist. The choir is open to everyone, with no auditions and no experience needed.

All songs are arranged for the choir by musical directors Laura Howe, a vocal artist, choral director and composer for TV, theatre and live soundscapes for the likes of the BBC, The Southbank Centre and The 02, and Curtis Stansfield, a multi-instrumental session musician & composer who is The Script’s keyboard player and has recorded and toured with the likes of Paolo Nutini, Natasha Bedingfield, Mika & Rae Morris.

Some Voices has a reputation as a contemporary choir with a difference; described by The Guardian as feeling ‘less like a choir and more like the closest you might get to being a rock star’ and by Time Out as having a ‘soul warming sense of community.’

Their appearance on BBC Two’s Friday Night is Music Night with the BBC Concert Orchestra was hailed as ‘mighty and fabulous’. Past triumphs include featuring on Channel 4’s Last Leg, singing with Keala Settle at the 2021 Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall, performing for the 2020 Brit Awards with Mastercard, recording the soundtrack for BBC One’s 2019 Christmas advert, and many more.
