Equator Festival: Women of the World

Following on from its successful series last year Equator’s Women of the World returns for its 7th edition with another mix of music from around the world.

There is a Balkan focus with the upbeat Macedonian gypsy sounds of Tatcho Drom, the music of Litha and Effy Efthymiou and Plastikes Karekles (Plastic Chairs). Staying with the gypsy theme the evocative voice of Portuguese fadista Claudia Aurora transports us to another emotional level.

Further afield we have the stunning Zimbabwean vocalist Tsungai Tsikirai, and finally our own Windrush celebration focussing on the music of Caribbean composers curated by composer Shirley J. Thompson. Come and sample some of this with fast selling day passes.
