Brona McVittie

We are excited to welcome the captivating singer and writer Brona McVittie with her brand-new touring ensemble, featuring Anne Garner (flute, backing vocals), Myles Cochran (slide guitar), Hutch Demouilpied (trumpet) and Marius Rodrigues (drums).

Having graced stages at Glastonbury, Celtic Connections and Cambridge Folk Festival she released her debut album We are the Wildlife earlier this year, gaining critical acclaim across the board. A deep reflection on the interconnectedness of things natural and manmade, the album is one of duality and dichotomy shaped as much by natural sonic patterning as by human patterns of behaviour — inspired by rural and urban scapes alike.

‘Beautifully embroidered folk…sweetness and bite…A stimulating debut’ ★★★★ The Guardian

‘Heavenly debut… Simply gorgeous’ Uncut

‘I can’t stop listening to this…it’s a really special album!’  Lauren Laverne, BBC Radio 6 Music

‘McVittie takes her inspiration from W.B. Yeats’s  idea of a kind of Celtic phantasmagoria which can be felt but remains essentially ineffable, and has  recorded a timeless mix of traditional and original material’ ★★★★ Mojo
