Folk on Foot on Film 2: The Front Room Festival Story

London Roots Festival

During the Covid 19 lockdowns, the Folk on Foot Front Room Festivals raised an astonishing £327,000 for musicians who’d lost their livelihoods when gigs and tours were cancelled. The four online shows, each lasting up to seven hours, featured some of the UK’s finest folk artists playing in their Front Rooms. They were watched by hundreds of thousands across the world and have been nominated for a British Podcast Award.

In this audio-visual presentation, the Folk on Foot podcast host Matthew Bannister tells the behind the scenes story of the Festivals and how his podcast managed to keep on walking through the lockdowns. He’ll share exclusive footage of artists including Johnny Flynn, Eliza Carthy, Karine Polwart, The Rheingans Sisters, Frank Turner, Peggy Seeger, Sam Sweeney, Kathryn Tickell, Edgelarks and many more.
