Forthcoming shows featuring the same performers:
The duo’s lifetime of deep learning of European traditions, from Southern French folk music to fiddle music in Sweden and Norway, is continually re-imagined to produce beguiling new music. Rowan is well-known on the English folk scene as part of hugely popular BBC Folk Award nominated trio Lady Maisery, as well as for her work with Nancy Kerr & The Sweet Visitor Band, and the Songs of Separation super-group alongside Eliza Carthy and Karine Polwart. Anna lives and works as a fiddle player in Toulouse and is an expert in southern French folk music.
Performing live, the sisters are inimitable; full-hearted performers and spontaneous, on-stage improvisors, with adventurous use of fiddles, voices, banjo, bansitar, tambourin à cordes, spoken word, dancing feet and percussion.
A unique and unmissable act on the folk and world music stage today, Rowan and Anna Rheingans play a plethora of instruments in their live shows, many of them handmade by their luthier father Helmut Rheingans who is based in their native Peak District home
The Rheingans Sisters released their critically acclaimed fourth album Receiver in 2020 on the Bendigedig Label.
