Tim Edey‘s album, A Celtic Christmas, represents his globetrotting influences: the beauty of The Wexford Carol, reflecting a decade spent around the world with The Chieftains, the passion and stunning musicality of ‘The Galician Carol’, learned from Spanish superstar Carlos Nunez during recording together at Mike Oldfield’s studio. There’s also the dance around the Christmas Tree fun of Ding Dong Merrily on High and time to sit by an open fire for the warmth of Tim’s take on Howard Blake’s classic The Snowman, plus the poignant surprise of his version of Fairytale of New York.
Tim Edey has toured the world and recorded with most of the major names in Celtic/contemporary roots music including; The Chieftains, Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon, Lunasa and Julie Fowlis, to name but a few. A double BBC Musician of the Year, BBC ALBA/Scotland Best Traditional Musician 2020, BBC Radio 2 Musician of the Year 2012 (BBC R2 FOLK AWARDS) winner, Tim is a name on the world stage in his own right. After seventeen years of hard work, he is rated by many to be one of the world’s finest ever melodeon and guitar players in the folk & contemporary scene today.
This event will last approximately 2 hours, including an interval.
