Stay in the Room Podcast

Due to popular demand this free event has moved from St Pancras Room to Hall Two

Bloody Good Period, the charitable organisation supplying asylum seekers and refugees with menstrual products is inviting men to Stay In The Room and talk about periods.

Inspired by the fact that boys are so often asked to leave the room when girls are taught about menstruation at school, CEO and founder Gabby Edlin decided to create a space which encourages and celebrates period chat amongst men.

Stay In The Room is hosted by BGP’s Gabby Edlin, Production Designer, Bobbie Cousins, and music producer, Jeremy Newton. Previous guests include comedian Dane Baptiste, actor and one half of Rizzle Kicks, Jordan Stephens, with plenty more interesting men to come.

Tonight’s special guests will include Double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Nish Kumar.

Gabby says, ‘By assuming that men don’t care about menstruation, we’re assuming they don’t have empathy, and that they don’t care about and learn from the women and people who menstruate in their lives, and personal experience has shown me that this is simply not.’

This live podcast recording is part of an extra special evening of bloody good fun and help raise funds for the great work of Bloody Good Period in tackling period poverty in the UK.
