Harmony Without Borders brings together the vibrant spirit of Azerbaijani music and the openness of contemporary jazz in a performance that is both rooted and adventurous. Pianist and composer Elchin Shirinov, an Honored Artist of Azerbaijan and one of the country’s leading jazz voices, is joined by his acclaimed trio to explore a sound world where East meets West, tradition meets innovation, and melody meets improvisation.
The program features Shirinov’s original works, inspired by Azerbaijani composers and the country’s rich folk heritage, as well as selected pieces by Azerbaijani composers reimagined through the language of jazz. Expect intricate rhythms, soulful themes, and spontaneous interplay that highlight the individuality of each musician while celebrating the ensemble as a whole.
At its heart, this program is about dialogue between cultures, genres, and people. Harmony Without Borders invites audiences on a journey that transcends boundaries, offering an evening of unity, discovery, and shared creativity.
