Mercury Prize nominees Led Bib are back in 2017 with their new album Umbrella Weather. One of the catalysts in the rebirth of young British Jazz, the band release their new record on acclaimed genre-busting label Rare Noise Records.
Long time fans of the group, now on their eighth release, will recognise the crashing grooves, soaring saxes and industrial churning, but this record also marks a turning point. This is Led Bib’s first album where each member contributes compositions. As such, it runs the length and breadth of the member’s musical histories, where industrial rock, psych-jazz and heavy metal sit alongside doom-laden landscapes and starkly beautiful compositions.
Led Bib have long been described as one of the best live bands on the circuit. Their live performances see their album recordings shifted and reshaped into new sonic beasts. This album launch at Kings Place, in front of the home crowd, is an obvious essential in the calendar.
‘Rarely have two saxes, keyboards, bass and drums sounded so dangerous yet so compelling.’ The Guardian
‘Part free improv, part art-rock, the band’s uncompromising formula puts them in the vanguard of the new school of British jazz’ The Sunday Times
