Performing as part of the Polish Jazz Festival London, the trio brings their signature blend of tradition and modernity to a city rich in jazz heritage. Their music is rooted in the classic piano trio format but consistently pushes boundaries, drawing from contemporary influences and personal experiences to create something uniquely their own.
Praised by critics and audiences alike, the Marcin Wasilewski Trio has toured extensively across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, building a loyal following and collaborating with legendary musicians along the way. This rare UK appearance promises a night of deeply engaging, emotionally rich jazz from one of the most respected trios of their generation.

Renowned for their distinctive sound that bridges tradition and innovation, the Marcin Wasilewski Trio is one of the most celebrated ensembles in contemporary European jazz. Combining deep respect for the classic piano trio format with a forward-looking, original voice, the trio has carved out a space that is entirely their own.
Formed in the early 1990s as Simple Acoustic Trio by young students at the Koszalin Music School, the group quickly rose through the ranks of Poland’s jazz scene. In 1993, drummer Michał Miśkiewicz—son of legendary saxophonist Henryk Miśkiewicz—joined pianist Marcin Wasilewski and bassist Sławomir Kurkiewicz, solidifying the line-up that remains unchanged to this day. Their long-standing collaboration is a testament to their creative chemistry, subtlety, and trust.
Their landmark 1995 debut, Komeda, a tribute to the music of Krzysztof Komeda, announced the arrival of serious new talent—earning critical acclaim and launching their international profile. A pivotal moment in their career came with an invitation from Tomasz Stańko, who invited the trio to form the rhythm section of his quartet. This high-profile collaboration helped catapult the group onto the global stage and was described by Stańko himself as one of the most exceptional partnerships in Polish jazz history.
With releases on the prestigious ECM Records label, the Marcin Wasilewski Trio has become known for their lyrical sensitivity, refined interplay, and poetic restraint. Whether exploring original compositions or reinventing works by Komeda, Stańko, or international greats, their performances are imbued with both introspection and elegance.
As they approach three decades of playing together, the Trio continues to grow, evolve, and inspire—making them not just a cornerstone of the Polish jazz scene, but a vital voice in the international jazz conversation.
