Two of the country’s best known and most loved jazz guitarists come together to play music from their second duo album, The Space Between.

Released on Edition Records in October 2016, the music combines Mike Walker’s electric guitar with Stuart McCallum’s acoustic guitars and electronic effects. With influences as far ranging as Bill Frisell, The Gloaming, Debussy and Gerald Finzi, they have a capacity to play beautiful music that borders on silence, and to build from there, organically and with an astonishing range of colour, to intensely energetic passages.

Mike and Stuart’s first meeting was nearly 20 years ago when Stuart was Mike’s student. Since then they have both performed internationally – Mike with The Impossible Gentlemen and Stuart with The Cinematic Orchestra. By embracing each other’s musicality and their combined wealth of experience, Mike and Stuart create something new and fresh. Their astounding techniques are merely a means to an end here – the musical journey is warm hearted and selfless.
