Aimed at the beginner and intermediate podcast, this session will cover the basics of recording, and what microphones to use for different podcasting and recording sessions. We’ll cover location and studio recording and microphone technique with portable recorders, USB microphones, dynamic, condenser and shotgun microphones, and audio interfaces. We’ll spend some time with the different gear and give people a chance to work with it in the room, and discuss questions and problems from the audience about general techniques and their own recording plans.
