Shaping Tomorrow

Presented by Hear Art

London Podcast Festival 2026

Shaping Tomorrow returns to London Podcast Festival after a groundbreaking live debut last year. The innovative podcast produced by Hear Art, brings together deaf and hearing creatives, leaders and changemakers to explore accessibility, inclusion and representation across the creative industries. Through honest conversations, the series amplifies underrepresented voices and inspires a more inclusive future. BSL interpreted.

Shaping Tomorrow is an accessible video podcast series produced by Hear Art that brings together deaf and hearing creatives, leaders and changemakers to explore inclusion, accessibility and representation across the creative industries.

Through candid conversations, the series examines the barriers and opportunities facing deaf and disabled professionals across sectors including film, television, visual arts, architecture and cultural leadership. Each episode creates a space for meaningful dialogue, allowing guests to share personal experiences, innovative ideas and practical solutions for building a more equitable creative sector.

Designed with accessibility at its core, Shaping Tomorrow challenges traditional approaches to media production by demonstrating how deaf-led and inclusive practices can enrich creative work and reach wider audiences. The series amplifies underrepresented voices, fosters greater understanding between deaf and hearing communities, and inspires organisations and individuals to rethink how the creative industries can become more inclusive for future generations.

By showcasing diverse perspectives and lived experiences, Shaping Tomorrow is helping to shape a more accessible, representative and collaborative creative landscape.

This event will have BSL interpreters and is deaf-friendly.

This event will last approximately 90 minutes, without an interval.

Reviews

‘This has been one of the most extraordinary experiences; I have learnt so much and so impressed by the deaf community. We need more inclusion, we need to break down barriers, we need to stop overthinking things. We’ve got a brilliant, rich, diverse and exciting world out there please can we get more of it on stage and screen and represent the world we live in?’ Maxine Peake (actress)

‘My podcast shares my journey, from overcoming communication hurdles in mountaineering, proving the potential of Deaf individuals. Don’t give up; embrace the challenge and achieve greatness.’ Michael Woods (deaf mountaineer)
