As part of our year-long 2022 Voices Unwrapped programme, we’re welcoming community, amateur and children’s choirs into our public spaces.
The Covid-19 pandemic has been a hugely challenging time for choirs. At Kings Place, we know how much joy singing with others can bring, and what a powerful force choirs can be for building community, supporting mental health, and developing a sense of wellbeing. We want to support London’s choral recovery.
As part of our Voices Unwrapped series in 2022, we are opening up our spaces to local choirs who could use a boost to their recovery from the pandemic. Already the London Show Choir have provided a wonderful foyer warm-up before our opening night with The Swingles and Vadé. The New London Children’s Choir prefaced a concert with Aurora Orchestra and Roderick Williams, and Constanza Choir will join us before our April concert with VOCES8 and Eric Whitacre.
We will be running a special day-long workshop for all the Music Directors in the summer, and hope to extend the programme right into the Christmas period. If your London choir might be interested, there is still time to get in touch.
