What does English history sound like? Join us for a musical march through the old royal quarter…
We’ll find Handel, whose work has soundtracked every coronation since that of George II; Thomas Tallis who negotiated the treacherous waters of royal regime change over three reigns; and we’ll find both Mozart AND Louis Armstrong making music at the same spot – not many places can boast that. Henry Purcell, that most London of all composers, will be at our shoulder every step of the way. Royal parks, processional routes and palaces will provide our backdrop and the tour ends at Westminster Abbey.
Meeting Point: The junction of Constitution Hill & The Mall just to the north of the Victoria Memorial
Timing: The planned tour content is of 90-100 minutes duration – please allow 2 hours to complete the tour.
End Point: Royal Flourish Westminster Abbey. Nearest Tube Westminster/Victoria
This tour takes place outdoors from start to finish. There are no interiors.
Join the 2pm Musical Marylebone & Mayfair tour, happening on the same day.
Can’t make this date? There is another Royal Flourish Tour tour on Sat 22nd May.
