Being Rina: The Collected Writings of Rina Wolfson

Jewish Literary Foundation presents Book Week 24

Speakers BZ Gillinsky, Paul Harris
Chair Keren David

An edited collection of the writings of Rina Wolfson, from her cancer diary to her JC Secret Shulgoer column.

Rina Wolfson was a gifted writer, whose writing made us laugh, learn, and cry. Writing on topics ranging from the parsha to parenting, from Talmud to chemotherapy, Rina’s work is a reminder of her inimitable voice. Rina’s husband Paul Harris and son BZ Gilinsky, in conversation with journalist, author and The Jewish Chronicle managing editor Keren David, discuss their edited collection of Rina’s writing, from her blog entitled Nobody needs another cancer diary, to her hugely popular Jewish Chronicle column, Secret Shulgoer.

This event will last approximately 1 hour, without an interval.

About the speakers:

Paul Harris is the senior partner of Edward Fail Bradshaw and Waterson, a criminal defence firm where he has worked for over 30 years. Of more importance, he is the father of Ava and Grace and step father of BZ. He was married to Rina for 14 years before she sadly passed away in September 2021.

Baruch (BZ) Gilinsky is a DPhil student at the University of Oxford, studying urban landscapes in Gold Rush San Francisco. He is proud to be Rina Wolfson’s son.

Keren David is the managing editor of The Jewish Chronicle. She is the award-winning author of 13 Young Adult novels.  She has worked as a journalist in London, Scotland and the Netherlands.
