Join journalist Yolanthe Fawehinmi as she interviews award-winning, global bestselling author of 18 novels Dorothy Koomson, who is celebrating her 20th anniversary as a published author.
Dorothy is known as the ‘Queen of the big reveal’, and her emotional thrillers have connected with readers all over the world. She was a judge for the 2022 Women’s Prize for fiction, and recently joined the inaugural advisory board for independent publisher and bookseller Jacaranda Books.
Like many Black writers, Yolanthe knows how it feels to be overlooked despite fearlessly examining cultural stigmas, sharing intimate life details, and creating remarkable literary works.
Black Prose has already become an evergreen archive of stories that inspire the next generation of Black writers, who just aren’t celebrated enough as movers and shakers. Yolanthe is excited to document the stories of people writing their way into new opportunities.
