This year marks the 50th anniversary of one of the most significant ‘blue-eyed soul’ albums of all time, Dusty Springfield’s Dusty in Memphis. As one of the UK’s most distinctive soul singers, Dusty has been a huge inspiration to generations of artists including singer-songwriter Lisa Stansfield. Lisa and Classic Album Sundays founder/broadcaster Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy will take an in-depth look at Dusty’s classic album and its legacy, which includes Lisa’s award-winning and triple-platinum certified debut album Affection. The interview will be interspersed with music including a full vinyl playback of Dusty in Memphis and key moments from Affection, currently celebrating its own 30th anniversary.
