Eric Levene presents Feinstein’s Theory of Relatives and other Hessel Street Stories – a collection of brilliantly funny stories set in the East End’s 1940s and 50s.
Eric Levene grew up in London’s post-war Jewish East End. Living opposite his grandfather’s kosher butcher shop in Hessel Street, Eric observed the comings and goings of the local Jewish community, and these memories provide the inspiration for his first collection of fictional short stories set in the late 1940s and early 50s.
