LBC’s Iain Dale and former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith have been reunited to bring you a truly unique weekly podcast on the big political stories of the week. For The Many is a one of a kind 30-minute podcast hosted by the political duo who are well known for their onscreen partnership delivering the Sky News paper review. Containing a mixture of lively debate, analysis, banter and gossip Iain and Jacqui give their perspective on the ever-changing world of politics and media in a way only they could. With no guests or interruptions, expect clashes and arguments as the pair’s big personalities are let loose.
In 2005, Iain Dale stood in the general election as Conservative candidate for Norfolk North, losing to the Liberal Democrat incumbent, Norman Lamb. Iain is best known for his political blog Iain Dale’s Diary and for his frequent appearances on UK news channels as a political commentator. In June 2010 he announced on his blog that he was resigning from the Conservative Party candidates list and would not be standing at any forthcoming parliamentary election. Since September 2010, he has hosted a regular show on London’s LBC 97.3 radio station, and he currently presents the LBC Drivetime show each weekday between 4 and 8pm.
Jacqui Smith is a British Labour politician who became the MP for Redditch from 1997–2010, the first female Home Secretary and the third woman to hold one of the Great Offices of State, after Margaret Thatcher and Margaret Beckett.
